In El Salvador, there is a 48-year-old family man, who has been with his life partner for many years. Together, they have two children that are 5 and 12 years old. Antonio started making a living when he was young by looking after animals on a farm, though he was motivated to grow from his. He chose to start a general store 15 years ago and he has never looked back. He knows that almost all of his income comes from the store and therefore he wants to get a loan to ensure that he can fully stock it and elevate his overall income.
Antonio chose to reach out to Credicampo to get a loan to purchase bread and pastries, shampoo, detergent, milk, eggs, coffee, sugar, rice, beans, snacks and more. Once approved, his loan was locally administered by Credicampo. This is an organization that strives to improve the lives of the people living in rural areas. It offers a range of services including health, education, basic services and infrastructure.
Philanthropist and Entrepreneur, Joe Johnson, Ph.D., (Welfont Joe Johnson) through the assistance of Kiva and Credicampo, chose to fully fund the loan that was requested by Antonio.
