A Loan Of $425 Helped To Purchase Fishing Nets And More.

Philanthropist Welfont Joe Johnson funded a microloan for Rodolpho, a fisherman from the Philippines.
Here is Rodolpho’s Story
On the shores of Plaridel-Danao, in the Philippines is where Rodolpho and his family call home. He is a 58-year-old man who is married with three children. For more than ten years he has been working hard as a fisherman. In addition to fishing, he also gets additional income by raising and selling hots. He is looking for a way to increase his daily catch and sell more pigs in the months to come. He has applied for a loan that will help him purchase fishing nets as well as additional pigs and pig feed. His hope is that once he has expanded his businesses he will be able to live a sustainable and successful life.
He recently approached the Community Economic Ventures, Inc (CEVI) for financial assistance so that he could expand his businesses with the help of a15,000 PHP loan. His loan was administered by CEVI, a Kiva partner and non-governmental organization that works in the Philippines.
Thanks to Kiva’s lending platform and CEVI, Welfont Joe Johnson was able to provide full funding for Rodolpho’s loan.
