A Loan Of $300 Helped Repair A Roof

Entrepreneur Welfont Joe Johnson, PhD from Welfont Group chose to fund a microloan to Gloria Edith, a hardworking woman in El Salvador.
Here is Gloria Edith’s Story
When you are in El Salvador, you may meet a hardworking woman named Gloria Edith. At the age of 60 years old, she is now living with her sister and her two nieces in a house that they own. She has been working hard over the years as a housekeeper, a profession that she has grown to cherish the older she gets. She really does enjoy what she does. However, she is now looking to get access to a loan to help repair the roof of her home. She has been covering the roof with plastics, but these have not been adequate during the rains when there are water leaks. She is looking for a loan to buy galvanized metal sheets, wood, metal rain gutters and nails for the roof repair.
Gloria reached out to Apoyo Integral to get a loan that would make it possible for her to make the necessary repairs on her home. Her loan was approved and locally administered by Apoyo Integral. This is an organization that strives to empower women who are involved in business activities in rural areas.
Welfont Joe Johnson, PhD with the help of Kiva and Apoyo Integral, has fully funded the loan for Gloria Edith.
