A Loan Of $225 Helped To Buy Groceries To Sell

Welfont Joe Johnson, PhD, the Philanthropist from Goodfield Tampa fully funded a microloan for Perlita, a general store owner from the Philippines.
Here is Perlita’s Story
In the heart of Binalbagan, in Negros Occidental, Philippines, there is a general store owner named Perlita. She is a family woman who is married with eight children. She has embarked on a journey to grow her business and has been able to do so successfully over the past few years. This is because she has taken out nine loans in the past and is now looking for a tenth loan to enable her to purchase additional stock of groceries for sale. Her goal this time is to save enough money to help her expand her business, as well as to put some funds towards the repair of her family’s home.
Just as she had in the past, she chose to approach Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation for a loan of 10,000 PHP. With these funds she will be able to purchase more groceries for her to sell in her store. Her loan was locally disbursed by the Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation (NWTF). With the facilitating of the Kiva platform, Welfont Joe Johnson chose to fully fund Perlita’s loan.
